children should be able to achieve following Targets:
Literacy:
Level 1:

Can show come control over word order producing logical statements.

Begin to show awareness how full stops are used, in reading or in
writing.

Can spell some common monosyllabic words correctly.

Can make recognizable attempts at spelling words not known.
Level 2:

Can produce short sections of developed ideas.

Can write with meanings in a series of simple sentences.

Can use appropriate vocabulary.
· Can give sufficient detail in writing to
interest the reader.

Can vary sentence structure, eg: has a number of ways for opening
sentences.
·
Can vary work choices; use interesting and ambitious words.
·
Can reflect the purpose of the writing, e.g. give reasons.
·
Can use some sentence punctuation.
·
Can use adjectives and descriptive phases for detail.
·
Can extend some sentences with connectives other than ‘and’.
·
Can make writing lively and interesting e.g. use punctuation to create
effect, varies sentence length.
·
Can use connectives to join two simple sentences, thoughts, ideas, etc.
·
Can provide enough detail to interest the reader.
